Hey guys, I just wanted to post these awesome pics of my DJI Phantom 2 that I painted with PlastiDip. It turned out far better than I anticipated. I partially disassembled it , leaving all of the electronics intact. I removed the top cover, the landing skids, the camera & gimbal, & tucked the antennas & all wiring up into the body. I stuffed paper towels into any openings & cleaned it all off with non solvent GooGone. I sprayed 3 coats of Orange, & 2 coats of the Glossifier. I debated on taping up the lights, but didn’t. I was able to peel all of the rubber completely off the lights with no problem at all. WOW, was I impressed with the brightness & the gloss that turned out ! I especially like the way that it feels when I pick it up. It flies exactly the same, & as far as weight goes, I wish I would have weighed it before and after but didn’t. There’s a YouTube video where they peeled PlastiDip off of an entire car & all of it weighed only 1 1/2 lbs. I can’t imagine I added much more than the weight of a sheet of paper to it. The best part, is if ever I don’t like the color, I just peel it all off & start over. You could easily do this in one day. Less than one can did all the coats.
