Glow in the Dark Paint

Treading a new path, Nissan has become the first manufacturer to apply glow-in-the-dark car paint to its all-electric LEAF hatchback. Carried out in conjunction with inventor, Hamish Scott, the glow-in-the-dark paint is a spray coating that absorbs UV energy during the day and allows the car to glow for eight to ten hours once the sun goes down.

While glowing car paints and wraps are already available on the market, the bespoke paint created specially for Nissan is unique, as it’s made up entirely of organic materials. It contains a very rare natural earth product called Strontium Aluminate, which is solid, odourless and chemically and biologically inert.
